The second half of the season has started and what an exciting half it promises to be. The Victoria Stadium pitch has been relayed with a new lovely surface, a lot of action in the January transfer window as clubs reinforced their squads with new talent and the controversial departure of Angels FC from the second division of the Gibraltar Football League means the race for promotion is tighter than ever.
We’ve been busy behind the scenes and brought in some exciting players, some of which have already made an impact in our first game since the close of the window providing us with a win in the ‘Ocean Village Clasico’ against fierce rivals FCB Magpies. Justin Rovegno, a GFA international and extremely solid defender will be sure to stop any attackers from breaking through and behind him standing tall in the goal providing the team with shot stopping confidence will be goalkeeper Jamie Carlin. James Adams, a fantastic French-born striker comes to us having played for premier teams such as Europa FC and local striker extraordinaire Lee Muscat also join the ranks, between them, they have a wealth of experience and promise to score plenty of goals.
The win over Magpies now sees us second on goal difference and joint top on points with Europa Point. As we said it’s all to play for!
Next game sees us face off against Leo FC on 18th February at 16:30. Although Leo FC have not had a good start this season they too have seen a restructure within their club with new investors brought in and are not to be underestimated. We will look to secure another 3 points and cement our place at the top of the table.
Hope to see you all in the stands supporting the Yellow and Blue!
